“One of the most beautiful courses I've ever played. With rolling hills and dog leg challenges, makes me wish I lived closer. Candidly, I played the day after a massive storm so I didn't have to be concerned about pace of play that other people report. I will say, the course conditions after the storm were incredible. Whomever it is managing the course should be managing a professional course. I can see why the pace could slow down. With the elevation changes, you simply cannot tell where the players are in front of you at times. You're just not sure if you can tee off. “We have played a lot of golf courses in Whiteside,Lee,and Bureau counties, but the gem of golf courses is Byron Hills located just outside Port Byron, Illinois. This course is well kept and managed. It by far is one of the most challenging courses in the area. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition, and it makes play more enjoyable.
