What can a visitor establish before trying to book? This pilot separates visible booking entry points, public hourly prices, stated admission basis and reservation duration. It does not verify live slots or score venue quality.

All six locations remain in each denominator, including inconclusive results and member-led clubs. Not found means not found in reviewed pages, not absence of an offering.

All six session-length results are review gaps: the earlier audit did not capture reservation durations. They are not six confirmed omissions on venue websites. A login-gated booking entry is not proof a non-member can reserve.

Review method & sample limits

This is a purposive six-venue pilot, not a national census, probability sample, city ranking or estimate of market prevalence. It reuses two existing listings each in Chicago, Atlanta and Austin from a bounded official-source review dated 2026-09-30.

The six were inherited from a listing-enrichment review, not randomly selected for this study. The sample includes two locations of the same Five Iron brand and both public-rental and membership-led models. Equal city counts do not make it representative.

Classifications use the recorded findings and official URLs in scripts/src/data/verified-booking-metros.json. We did not conduct a fresh crawl, buy a session, authenticate as a member, telephone a venue, inspect live slot inventory or exhaustively search every page. Source check dates are the prior review dates, not a new verification date or a source publication date.

Found means explicit qualifying evidence was recorded. Not found means the criterion was not found within the reviewed pages, never that the venue lacks the offering. Inconclusive means the evidence did not establish the criterion or the earlier review did not capture it. All three states remain in each denominator.

The unit of analysis is a location, not a chain or booking platform. Each criterion uses all six sampled locations as its denominator, including private clubs and uncertainty; these are visibility counts, not public-rental availability or quality scores. We report raw counts, not national percentages or confidence intervals.

Session duration was outside the earlier review's captured fields. Its six inconclusive results are review gaps, not six missing duration disclosures. GET 200 and visible booking links do not guarantee available slots, public access, a successful reservation, a final price or current operation.

The Atlanta Five Iron review noted an unresolved NE/NW address discrepancy. Location identity and booking evidence are retained with that caveat. The pilot remains noindex, follow until a broader, more diverse and complete evidence review is approved; it is available to readers with a citable CSV.

Criterion definitions

Location-specific online booking entry: An official location page links to a simulator booking entry for that location, or hosts its booking portal. Member/login-gated entries qualify as visible entry points, not verified public transactions. A phone number or coming-soon page does not qualify.
Public simulator price with unit and conditions: The recorded official evidence states a public simulator rental amount, its time/charging unit and any stated eligibility or time-of-day conditions. Membership dues, driving-range baskets and directory-extracted tiers do not qualify. A rate unit is not a session duration; taxes, fees and the checkout total remain unverified.
Stated admission basis: The recorded official evidence identifies public rental, members-only access, or member-and-guest access. Found means the audience/access basis is stated, not that every age, guest, opening-hour or other admission condition is known. A restrictive policy can be transparent.
Reservation duration and conditions: Explicit reservation length or selectable session increments, in minutes/hours, with stated minimums or other duration conditions. Opening hours, 24/7 access and a price per hour do not establish a reservation length. This field was not captured in the prior review, so all six results remain inconclusive.
