“I reserved the entire space for 2 hours for an event with all the groomsmen for my son’s wedding this past Friday, May 1. The owner was there early and greeted us and our host for the visit, Jessie, was fantastic and a pleasure to work with. The facility was clean and perfect for our group of 13. If you’re in Durham and looking for something casual to do with friends this is a must do. It’s right across the street from the Bulls stadium so an easy walk from anywhere downtown Durham.” — Doug Garrison, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (2 months ago)
“Fantastic place! Great selection of beer and cocktails for very affordable prices. Has the best simulator golf league around. The simulators themselves are top notch, the same brand used for the TGL.” — dukedemon 2014, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (3 months ago)
“Bays were nice and clean, but staff wasn't very helpful/knowledgeable. Walked in and wasn't really acknowledged for a while, as they were busy on their cellphone. Drinks were not very good either. Beer was flat and so was the mimosa. Played my 2 hour session, then asked about joining the SOG membership but was told to call on another day to speak with someone more knowledgeable.... So that was a little disappointing. Would want to try a simulator again though, that was alot of fun!” — Matt Wong, rated 2 out of 5 on Google (4 months ago)
“I visited a few months ago as part of an Offline event and it was fun. Instead of golf, I enjoyed basketball on the simulator with a group I had just met. I would love to go back and try some other games. My cocktail was delicious too - an adult hot chocolate 😋 I don’t remember the liquors used (I asked to mix them in the drink and it was the best move). Great staff, intimate space, nice option for downtown Durham👌🏾” — Yolanda Brown, rated 4 out of 5 on Google (5 months ago)
“With the summer temperatures in the high 90’s, some friends and I decided to give State of Golf a try and we were not disappointed. Not only were we able to golf in a comfortable temperatures but also had access to the bar and restrooms at any time. You can walk right up to the bar and grab a drink whenever but we didn’t even have to do that because the bartender, Josh, was attentive and made sure we always had what we needed. I really enjoyed being able to use the simulators. I’ve had some issues and experienced lagging with some simulators in the past but we didn’t have one issue between the four of us at SOG. We all felt our shots were accurate and responsive. The coolest part for me was the video playback. After each swing you are shown how your club is striking the ball in slow motion. This provides immediate feedback on how you are making contact with the ball after you hit. This helped me make those small adjustments to my club face mid-round for better ball striking. Overall - the bar, the service, environment, and simulators were fantastic. We had a great experience and I highly recommend a visit. We’re excited to go back!” — Jesse Denick, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (a year ago)
