“Maryland National kinda sneaks up on you. You pull in and it’s like yeah ok, nice course… and then you get out there and suddenly it feels like you’ve been dropped somewhere in the Appalachian mountains. Big elevation changes, trees everywhere, just really scenic in that calm, slightly intimidating way. I caught myself just standing there a few times like an idiot, club in hand, not even thinking about the shot. It’s definitely challenging, but not in that “this course hates you” way. More like… it pushes you a bit but still lets you have a decent round if you’re not completely falling apart. Fair, I guess. Which I appreciated after playing places that feel like they’re actively rooting against you. Only downside—and it’s kind of hard to ignore—is the highway. There are a few holes where the traffic noise just barges into the whole peaceful mountain vibe. One second you’re lining up a shot in this beautiful setting, next second it sounds like rush hour is happening 30 feet away. Not exactly the serene golf experience they probably had in mind. That said, the people there were great. Like genuinely nice, not forced. Super helpful, easy to talk to. Carts were clean too, which sounds small but… it matters. Nobody wants to start their round in a cart that feels like it’s been through something. Overall I really liked it. It’s a really nice course, a little noisy in spots, but the views and layout more than make up for it. I’d come back without much hesitation.” — Claudius Nan, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (2 months ago)
“After calling around to several local wineries in New Market and Frederick, as well as other golf courses, to host my baby shower, I ultimately decided on Maryland National Golf Club—and I’m glad I did. The price point alone outweighed all other options. Every winery I contacted required alcohol purchases and started at $4–5k just for the venue and drinks, not including food, linens, or guest count. When I reached out to Maryland National, I spoke with Reghan, who explained that there is an $800 minimum for food and drink, with the event space included. Once you look at their per-guest food pricing, it’s very easy to meet that minimum. We selected hors d’oeuvres, entrées, and desserts, and everything was well prepared and served. In total, we spent about $1,300 including the gratuity that’s built into the food cost, which felt like a great value. We booked the Overlook Room, which comfortably accommodates 40+ guests and features floor-to-ceiling windows with a beautiful view of the golf course. Another big plus was that it’s located directly across from the bar, so guests who wanted alcohol were able to purchase drinks themselves without it being a hosted bar. The package included linens, tables and chairs, food for 48 guests, and staff assistance with setup and breakdown. The entire process was seamless and stress-free, which was exactly what I wanted for an event like this. There are cheaper venue options available on site, such as their restaurant (Schroyer’s Tavern), but we opted to splurge on the Overlook Room due to personal preference. Overall, Maryland National was a great choice for our event and offered excellent value for the experience.” — Kenzie Kramer, rated 4 out of 5 on Google (5 months ago)
“We had our wedding at Maryland National Golf Club this past Saturday, and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. From the very beginning of our venue search all the way to the last second of our wedding day, Reghan was absolutely incredible. She was attentive, organized, supportive, and truly went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The venue itself is beautiful, but the level of service from the MNGC is what truly made our day unforgettable. And the food was amazing — our guests would not stop talking about how delicious everything was! I could not recommend Maryland National Golf Club more for anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue. Truly a 10/10 experience.” — Kiersten Blache, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (7 months ago)
“I can’t say enough wonderful things about our wedding at Maryland National Golf Club. The venue perfectly combines rustic charm with timeless elegance, and our photos truly capture the beauty of this hidden gem. Reghan went above and beyond to handle every detail flawlessly, and the staff were both fun and professional. I’d choose to get married here a thousand times over!” — Cheyenne Nichols, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (8 months ago)
“Maryland National was really one of the best choices we made for our wedding. The views are absolutely stunning, the staff is wonderful, and they are able to make any vision come to light. We worked primarily with Reghan, who is so sweet and made sure that everything was set to be the way we wanted. She is absolutely wonderful at making the day go smoothly and able to communicate well with everyone. The food is also to die for. The way it was at our tasting was the exact same as at our wedding. For our rehearsal dinner, we also hadn’t had any of the food options prior to that day, but everything had come out wonderfully and they were able to accommodate any and all food restrictions for our guests. Our guests have also commented on how well everything turned out that day, and how great the staff is. Thank you, MD National for making our day so special” — Danyelle Perlroth, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (8 months ago)
