He was only 9 and very new to golf but Geoff was incredibly patient, encouraging, and great at building his confidence through simple, actionable drills. “I am a high handicap golfer that picked up the game seriously in my late 40s/early 50s. After several years of poor play, I was ready to learn to swing properly or quit the game entirely. A friend recommended golf tech and I took a swing evaluation with Bobby King. I liked what Bobby had to say and decided to sign up for months of practice and lessons during the winter. My hope was that by spring, I would be ready to go. Bobby worked with me patiently to rebuild my swing from the ground up. He focused my attention first on developing a proper backswing before we moved on to the transition and follow through. My previous swing was rigid and mechanical with my club/body moving in directions that made it difficult to strike the ball properly. Bobby made me "swing focused" instead of "ball focused". I spent hours, that turned into weeks and months focusing on proper swing path/mechanics and getting my body to move in ways that it was not used to moving. Bobby convinced me to spend time swinging the club outside in my backyard without a ball and then in my basement during the dead of winter in front of a mirror, again without a ball. After 3 months of working on a proper swing with just a 7 iron, Bobby agreed I was ready to unleash the driver. With a fluid and repeatable swing with a 7 iron, I easily picked up my driver again and consistently drove the ball 40 yards further than I had ever done in my life. I can't say enough good things about Bobby's ability to communicate with a student that really had a hard time learning the details. I think he used every golf tip in the book until things finally broke free in the last couple of weeks.
