“This could be so much better. Top notch equipment but mediocre service We booked a 2 hour slot for four to play. We arrived about ten minutes before our scheduled time. We waited more than 10 minutes for omeone to show up at.the front desk to.check in. By the time we were checked in and shown the equipment, it was probably 20 minutes imto our playing time. Once we started playing, we tried to order food and drinks. The place was very busy, and there was one person working the bar/food orders. So an hour into our 2 hour slot, we finally had food and drinks. The chicken sandwiches were like rubber. They were out of pretzel sticks. Two of the beers we tried to order were out, and the one person behind the bar didn't have time to change the kegs. We ordered mojitos instead. They were not great, and we were upcharged for a special rum that we didn't ask for. Even playing at a fast pace, we were only able to play 8 holes, and were quickly ushered out because our space was reserved. No one was actually waiting. So all in all, a very expensive 2 hours. I think we will opt for another place next time.” — Colleen Vance, rated 3 out of 5 on Google (a month ago)

“Booked a simulator at Five Iron for my birthday with a group of friends and Jack Whelan seriously made the whole night. It was just us hanging out, but he treated it like it was something special. Everything ran smoothly, the vibes were great, and the simulator was an absolute blast. We were laughing the whole time. Jack made sure we were taken care of the entire time. You can tell he actually cares about people having a good experience. If you’re going to Five Iron, hope you get Jack. He made my birthday perfect.” — Cecilia González Herrera, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (4 months ago)

“Such a great experience at 5iG. Gazza Burke is one of the best instructors I've encountered. Fabulous on fundamentals and swing mechanics as well as course management and strategy. He has a terrific personality and makes the game fun. And the staff at the Penn Quarter location (particularly Daniel and Ben) are outstanding as well.” — Gerald Perry, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (5 months ago)

“We ended up getting a simulator for a few hours tonight and it was a lot of fun definelty worth the money. When it comes to the service we struggled to get food or drinks however Chef Floyd took it upon himself to make sure we were taken care of, from the wings to the cheesecake he did not miss!!! the garlic parmesan wings he made were phenomenal, they had every bit of garlic and weren’t overpowered with parmesan- we also ordered the bbq wings which were sticky sweet in the best way!! now finally as i heard from my friends tonight “these bar fries are torch” and to top it off the cheesecake had blackberries and strawberry jam if i wasn’t coming for the golf i’d come just for the food.” — Charlotte Camp, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (5 months ago)

“I visited Five Iron Golf in Washington DC on June 13th while I was up from Sydney for Warped Tour, and I’m so glad I stopped in. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They really made me feel like part of the Five Iron family. The atmosphere was great, and the drink service was super quick too. My only suggestion for improvement would be to explain that the session length is self-timed. As a first-time visitor, I assumed the simulators were on a timer and didn’t realise I had overstayed until approached by management. An awesome spot all around. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!” — Cody Commandeur, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (a year ago)
