“I live 50 miles away so I didn't discover Blue Hills till about 7 or 8 years ago. It quickly became a favorite due to it being "player-friendly" and they keep the course in nice playable shape year round. However, with 2 rate increases last year and a recent one last month, my senior friends and I are finding it harder to justify the trip up especially with the high price of gas now. We're not giving it up, but our 2 or 3 rounds there each month will probably become more like 2 or 3 a year. I still recommend the course to anyone who is looking for a course to play while they are in the Roanoke area.” — Timothy Hale, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (a month ago)
“Came into town to visit family and decided to play this course. Very very happy that I did so. The course was in really really great shape the putting greens the driving range the clubhouse customer service was fantastic. Most of the holes are very golfer friendly and very enjoyable and the greens were absolutely immaculate like a sponge and just beautifully maintained. I plan to come play every time we visit family in Roanoke and this is a must for those of you who are in from out of town give this golf course a chance and I think you will be very happy” — Chirag Bhatt, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (a year ago)
“Blue Hills is one of the best publicly accessible golf courses in the Roanoke area. The course is always in amazing condition and the staff are very welcoming and professional. I’ve always enjoyed playing here and consider this course to be my favorite public course in the area.” — Tyler Hunt, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (a year ago)
“Had a great experience at Blue Hills. Had a tee time with 3 others at 9:06am, but was on a 10-15 minute delay for frost. Still had a great time and beautiful views. Course was in great shape with great greens. Didn’t try the grill but the BBQ smelt great. Beer was ice cold.” — James Basham, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (3 years ago)
“This golf course is, hands down, the nicest public course you're going to play in the Roanoke Valley and it's better-priced than most of the surrounding courses! The driving range has multiple tee boxes so you're never hitting from a dirt box and if the grass boxes are closed the mats they make you hit from aren't the type that you have to scrape off of your clubs later. They have 2 putting greens that are in great shape and they are indicative of the greens on the course as well whereas most courses have nice putting greens but their course greens aren't nearly as good. They have course rangers that patrol regularly to keep everyone moving, which is good as their tee times are usually within 9 minutes of each other. The golf shop and restrooms are clean and the staff is professional and polite. I can't speak to the restaurant as I never have time to stop in there and eat but have always heard good things about it. If there was one thing I would complain about, it's the snack shack never being open when I play there, which is always Friday mornings.” — Josh & Katherine Stowers, rated 5 out of 5 on Google (5 years ago)
