“PUBLIC SESSIONS not for people with beginner experience. Coming back to skating after being off the ice for many many years, I went to a 3:20 PM public session on a Tuesday afternoon. This is when the staff do their Learn to Skate lessons for toddlers, so about the right 1/3 of the rink was coned off. I’m used to the middle being for lessons, so I didn’t see the cone, the RUDEST coach in front of children told me to get out of the cone area… and continued as I was actively getting out. The more time went by, the more of the rink got coned off for lessons and the more private lessons showed up too. I’d say, for public skating, in a PUBLIC session, maybe 1/3 of the rink was usable? And I had to zigzag around so many lessons, there wasn’t even a clear path. The cone area starts immediately after you enter the rink, so for those who aren’t confident in your skating, you CANNOT hold onto any rails. I saw a poor teenage girl say sadly, “I can’t go because I need to hold onto the rail.” She left after maybe 5 minutes of standing there. “Highly disappointed. Visited during public skating sessions and they stopped my daughters right away with a bunch of stupid rules and "policies". My daughters have been trained and are not beginner skaters. They blocked off 2/3 of the rink for lessons and left a tiny area for public skating where it was overcrowded. Earlier in the day I called to inquire and they assured me it was not expected to be busy at the time I was coming. My girls came off the ice after 5 min but they refused to refund us. “I was genuinely shocked at my experience here. We came during public open skate but there were children’s lessons happening on either side and middle of the rink so there was only half the area available to skate. The skates were wildly low quality. I understand that rentals aren’t top tier but if you come, bring an extra pair of socks or two to cushion the hard plastic in the skates. The ice quality was horrible as a result of trying to put too many people in too small an area. The price of this place is absurd for the service and quality provided. “I went here for a hockey game. Parking in the garage is expensive ($33 for about 2 hours) and I'm not sure where else to park. They have a nice large elevator to take you to the rinks and wide stairs if you prefer stairs. When you go In it is a very large open area with tables to sit and eat. The snack bar has muffins, chips, bagels, pizza, garlic knots and some salad choices. Not bad but a few more choices for protein would be nice for our athletes before or after game meal. It is also a little pricey. A regular can of soda was $2. Pizzas start at $19.95 for a cheese pizza but it was good. The East rink where we played was nice because the netting doesn't go all the way around and you can take better pictures of the game. After the game my son said the ice was good so that's a plus. Locker rooms were clean but very small. The pro shop does sharpening and is nice, offering hockey and figure skating equipment.
